Pic of the Week: Oaxaca Authentic Mexican Food in Troy

We don’t always eat tacos on Tuesday, but we’re glad we recently did at Oaxaca (pronounced “wah-ha-ka”) Authentic Mexican Food in Troy. Sometimes you stumble upon a restaurant that leaves a lasting impression on your taste buds; Oaxaca is one of those places.

Located in an area severely lacking culinary diversity, Oaxaca brings a much needed dose of authentic Mexican flavor to Troy. The menu features Mexican staples like Tacos, Burritos, and Tortas, plus specialty dishes.

Our Tinga (shredded chicken) and Tilapia Tacos really brought the flavor. The corn tortillas were made by hand and you could taste the difference. The freshness of the ingredients and the seasoning of the proteins made our taste buds sing.

Service was friendly and we were even given complimentary chips and salsa while waiting for our order. Wash everything down with a Jarritos flavored pop, and you’ve got a winning meal whether you’re dining in or carrying out.

It appears that Oaxaca may be in a difficult location, but we hope this is not the case. We wish them all of the luck in the world and encourage you to check them out if you’re in the area.
