The Conserva in Ferndale [Photo Gallery]

When we first met Chef Matt Baldridge, he was part of the team launching Atomic Chicken in Clawson. When we heard he was spearheading a new restaurant in Ferndale called The Conserva, we were excited to add it to our list.

Our final new restaurant visit of 2016, The Conserva greeted us with an upscale vibe that was both intimate and intriguing. While taking our seats at the bar, it was obvious that it wasn’t going to be a typical culinary experience.

The small, focused food menu and carefully crafted list of cocktails were the perfect compliment to the hip interior. If you’re looking for a burger and fries, this won’t be your eatery of choice. The Conserva’s menu was chock-full of meticulously crafted dishes with ingredients ranging from octopus to trotters (pig’s feet). Menu items and specials will vary from time-to-time, so be prepared to explore Chef Baldridge’s latest creations.
