Why limit a good thing to Saturday and Sunday? That’s what The Whitney in Detroit said before launching their everyday brunch service. Take a break out of your busy day and enjoy delicious egg favorites, sandwiches, and lavish creations at this historic restaurant every day of the week from 9 AM – 1:30 PM. If this won’t make it a little easier to get through the week, we don’t know what will.
It had been ages since we dined at The Whitney, so we seized the opportunity and made a reservation to check out their new brunch service. Motivation in the form of a 50% off promotion didn’t hurt, either. Dead set on beating the Monday blues, we surveyed the menu ahead of time and arrived ready to eat.

As you might expect at a prestigious establishment like The Whitney, we were greeted with superior service and dishes to match. There were many items that sounded appealing, but the ones chose were real winners. The Strawberries & Bananas in Double Cream were a divine start to our Monday brunch. The decadent cream made us think we were eating dessert.

If you love seafood, you’re bound to find something you love at The Whitney. The Eggs Nantucket (crab cakes, spinach, poached eggs, and hollandaise), King Crab & Shrimp Salad Sandwich, and Seafood Sauté are sure to satisfy if you enjoy the bounty of the sea. Our Shrimp & Lobster Omelet was executed nicely with plenty of shrimp and lobster flavor shining through.
The winner of the day was the Eggs Sir Whitney dish that wowed us with perfectly seasoned tenderloin atop a garlic cheese baguette. Poached eggs and hollandaise with a hint of horseradish joined the party. Conversation was forced to cease as this glorious dish was devoured in record time.
If you have the opportunity, we recommend enjoying a relaxing brunch at The Whitney any day of the week. In the meantime, check out photos from our visit.
