One Eyed Betty's Ferndale

The Betty Burger at Ferndale’s One-Eyed Betty’s is one of the best around because of its juicy patty and the garlic aioli that sets it off. There’s no shortage of pairing options with their extensive tap list featuring Michigan brews and beyond.

Checker Bar (Detroit)

Checker Bar Detroit

The Checker Burger at Detroit’s Checker Bar checked all of our boxes. The burger was simple, but juicy and flavorful. Choose their 1/3 lb. patty or upgrade to the original 1/2 lb. patty. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Bronx Burgers (Warren)

Bronx Burgers Warren Michigan

Our only regret with Bronx Burgers in Warren is that we didn’t try them sooner. Their menu features an extensive lineup of mouth-watering burgers. We can vouch for the Manhattan Burger with its muenster cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, Russian dressing, and Texas toast “bun.”

Good Burger (Dearborn & Garden City)

Good Burger Garden City Michigan

A name like Good Burger sets the bar high for having taste-tacular burgers. No worries here. Good Burger serves 100% Halal burgers, including their signature The Good Burger. It features mozzarella sticks, an onion ring, and a next-level sauce.

Harry’s (Detroit)

Don’t be fooled by the location of Harry’s. Serious burgers are available inside this Detroit institution that has foodies and locals raving. Order a legendary burger or build your own. We recommend the Motor City Burger with a grilled Angus steak burger topped with sautéed mushrooms, melted Swiss, house smoked bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes on a Brioche bun.

Taystee’s (Dearborn)

Taystee's Burgers Dearborn

The Notch-Yo-Burger from Taystee’s in Dearborn is one of the most unique burgers in metro Detroit. This cheesy creation features gooey nacho cheese, plus American, Swiss, and pepper jack. Dorito’s chips amp up the cheesiness while providing a wonderful crunch.

Motz’s Burgers (Detroit)

Ale Mary’s (Royal Oak)

Ale Mary's Royal Oak Beer Cheese Burger

You don’t have to be a true beer nerd to love the food menu at Ale Mary’s in Royal Oak, but it certainly helps. The acclaimed Beer Cheese Burger is hype-worthy because of its tasty toppings, notably the beer cheese made with Dragonmead’s Final Absolution. It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t shout out Ale Mary’s fried McClure’s Pickles, a fantastic way to start your meal.

Brome Burgers & Shakes (Dearborn)

Brome Burgers & Shakes Dearborn

For a burger that reads more like breakfast, the One-Eyed Brome from Dearborn’s Brome Burgers & Shakes should do the trick. This burger starts with 100% grass-fed beef and is topped with provolone cheese, avocado, beef bacon, tomato, mayonnaise and a fried egg. When in Brome…

Garage (Northville)

Garage Northville Michigan

When in Northville, chow down on the Garage Burger at the Garage Grill & Fuel Bar. We recommend supercharging this 8 oz. Angus beauty with bacon and cheddar.

Green Dot Stables Detroit

Lions, Tigers, and Ostrich, oh my! If it’s edible, Detroit’s Greet Dot Stables has probably put it on one of their Mystery Meat sliders.

Miller’s Bar (Dearborn)

If you grew up near Miller’s Bar in Dearborn, chances are you’re a rabid fan. Miller’s has a dive bar sensibility, serving up delicious no-fuss burgers on wax paper. Don’t expect any fancy toppings here because, truth be told, you don’t even need them.

Republica (Berkley, MI)

Made with 100% grass-fed Piedmontese beef from Michigan, the Revolution Burger at Republica has patrons flocking from near and far. Seeburger’s Cheeseburgers (Mt. Clemens & Roseville)

Seeburger's Cheeseburgers Roseville Michigan

The Big Clem at Seeburger’s Cheeseburgers features two beef patties, cheese, lettuce, thousand island dressing, and an onion ring. Speaking of onion rings, Seeburger’s onion rings are so big, we’re pretty sure they could sink the Titanic.

Redcoat Tavern Royal Oak Michigan

Redcoat Tavern has been voted Detroit’s best burger over 60 times, largely in part due to their divine Piedmontese burger. With tons of available toppings, you’re free to dress up this high-quality, lower-fat burger any way that tickles your taste buds.
