If you’ve been following our food and drink adventures across Michigan, you’ve probably noticed we head up to Traverse City a few times per year. To avoid getting stuck in a rut, we’ve been seeking out new restaurants and breweries to stop at along the way.

One of the new destinations we visited was Paddle Hard Brewing in Grayling. We did our research ahead of time and were excited to grab a pint of beer and some food. Their tap list featured brews of their own, as well as others from across Michigan. As we always recommend, we went with two brews from the brewery itself: the Marathon American IPA and a Passion Fruit IPA. We wanted to have another pint each because both were excellent, but figured it wouldn’t be a good idea with an hour left in our trip to Traverse City.

Flatbread pizzas and paninis anchored the menu at Paddle Hard Brewing; we went with the Chicken Basil Pesto Pizza. This thin crust pie featured a mozzarella and provolone blend, roasted red peppers, roasted chicken, and red onions on a basil pesto sauce. It was as good as it looks!

Paddle Hard Brewing won us over and we’re happy to visit them again in the future. Check them out if you’re in the Grayling area!
