Mansoor Isa was born to open a restaurant. He’s been obsessed with food and nutrition from an early age, leading to the opening of his first venture, Troi Burger, in Dearborn. A play off the name “Detroit,” Troi Burger brings delicious burgers using only the highest quality products to an unsuspecting spot: The mall.
After a vacancy came up in the food court at Dearborn’s Fairlane Mall, Mansoor capitalized on the opportunity to open a burger joint. Surrounded by familiar food court eateries, Troi Burger stands out from the crowd by serving grass-fed Halal beef from Eastern Market, buns made in Mexicantown, and other locally-sourced products. Mansoor points out that the only reason he owns a freezer is because they serve magnificent milkshakes made with real ice cream.
Although Troi Burger has only been open since December 2015, it’s easy to see why they have gained a loyal following with foodies. We ate our weight in burgers around Detroit this summer; Troi Burger is up there with the best of them!
The Cheeseburger topped with beef bacon was a real winner, while the Troi Burger was a home run with its signature Troi Sauce. We sampled three versions of their fresh, hand-cut fries; the Garlic Parmesan Fries were our favorite. We can’t wait to go back to try their hot dogs, although our waistlines would prefer us to devour one of their freshly prepared salads.
When asked what one thing Mansoor wanted the world to know, he responded, “We’re so damn good.” With truly delicious burgers and Mansoor’s ambition, the possibilities are endless for Troi Burger.
Troi Burger is located inside the Fairlane Mall at 18900 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.
