After hearing about Creston Brewery opening in the former DeKorne Furniture showroom on the northeast side of Grand Rapids, we were intrigued and excited to check it out.
The taproom wasn’t your typical space. The open and airy room had finishes from its former occupant, showing respect for the neighborhood landmark. Wood floors, a gorgeous bar, and original ceiling embellishments really made a great impression.
Not only did the interior of Creston Brewery stand out, the variety of brews and food were really unique. Peach, blueberry, and coffee flavored brews stood by more traditional ales and wheat beers. Food-wise, items like empanadas, nachos, tacos, burritos and quesadillas adorned the menu.
Our latest Pic of the Week features the Street Style Beef Bowl (onion, cilantro, salsa, charred radish, queso fresco, and shredded beef) and the Breakfast Bowl (egg, poblano queso, pico de gallo, beans, rice, onion, and cilantro). You could tell the food was made fresh in-house and that it wasn’t meant to play second fiddle to the brews.
The unique beer and non-standard pub fare at Creston Brewery were a nice change of pace and will have us visiting again.
